Torremolinos
Torremolinos is one of the most popular resort towns in the Costa del Sol. What used to be a poor fishing town, is now visited by millions of tourists because of its atmosphere and beaches.
Benalmádena
Benalmádena is located around 19 km west of Malaga airport and the capital and sits between the towns of Fuengirola and Torremolinos with a population of around 45,000 inhabitants.
Alhaurín el Grande
Forming an imposing natural fortress, the traditional town of Alhaurín el Grande is steeped in history, soaked in classical Andalusian architecture and atmosphere throughout, and highlighted by stunning views across the Costa del Sol’s undulating hinterland.
Mijas
Mijas is a whitewashed village located 450 metres above sea level and owing to its climate and terrain is popular for golf holidays. Mijas Pueblo as it is really known, is located 23 kilometres away from Málaga International Airport and 15 minutes away by car from the beaches of Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol.
Coín
Coín tends to be overlooked by many tourists visiting the Costa del Sol, who disembark at Málaga airport and head straight for the bright lights of the coastal resorts. Local Spaniards and expats who call the Costa del Sol home know better, of course.
Fuengirola
Previously, a tiny fishing village, Fuengirola has become a vibrant metropolis brimming with character. Fuengirola’s beautiful Costa del Sol location is a real beach paradise, with kilometres of smooth, golden sand curved around the coast.
La Cala de Mijas
La Cala de Mijas is a little gem on the eastern Costa del Sol. It is close to the much larger urbanisation of Calahonda. But should never be confused with it; they may be neighbours but they’re nothing like each other.
Elviria
Located about 40 km from Málaga airport, Elviria is an urban resort belonging to Marbella. It is a very well-maintained community that extends along the beach and into the hills with a large number of high-class houses and apartments.
