Golden Mile
Nestled between the beautiful Mediterranean coastline on one side and the La Concha mountain range on the other, the Golden Mile is one of the most popular residential areas on the Costa del Sol.
Along the broad, tree-lined Golden Mile you will find a plethora of sumptuous restaurants, trendy bars, grandiose golf courses and luxurious hotels. Some sights worth a mention include the Palace of King Fahd – one of the largest private residences in Europe – the Marbella Club Hotel with its beautiful beach club, and its illustrious neighbour the Puente Romano Hotel. The latter of which derives from a well-preserved Roman bridge set within its tropical gardens.
As well as being so close to some of the coastlines most visited attractions, the mile itself features some of the best beaches in the region. The beaches are surprisingly quiet, even in the busiest seasons of the year, and you can find an impressive variety of beach bars and restaurants along the promenade to relax with a long and lazy lunch.
The Golden Mile is world famous as being home to some of the most luxurious and impressive properties not just in Marbella, but Europe too but here at Sunny Costa we have some deals for you. You may have heard of Marbella’s Golden Mile, a stretch of highly desirable real estate on the coast of Marbella in Málaga, Andalusia. Well now the nearby municipality of Estepona has its own luxury housing development with high-end new constructions just waiting to be bought. Check it out!
Although the Golden Mile isn’t particularly big it has several clearly defined areas, all sharing the common denominator of luxury:
West-End
The area closest to Puerto Banus is made up of several developments including Rio Verde, home to several new property projects; Urb Ancón where you’ll find Victor’s Beach, one of the most famous beach bars on the Costa del Sol; and El Oasis with several apartment complexes and a shopping centre.
To the North of this section of the Golden Mile is the world-famous Olivia Valere nightclub plus two popular establishments for higher international education – Les Roches International School of Hotel Management and the American College of Marbella.
East-End
The section between El Ancón and Marbella houses some of the most luxurious properties and hotels on the Costa del Sol. The most prestigious of the 5-star hotels in Marbella are located here: Puente Romano and Marbella Club. Both have exceptional facilities including
beach clubs, spas and Mediterranean gardens. Puente Romano is also home to the renowned Puente Romano Tennis Club that hosts world-class tournaments and, in the summer, concerts and events. Marina Puente Romano offers high-end frontline beach apartments in landscaped Japanese and Persian gardens.
Michelin-star holder Dani García owns two restaurants on the Golden Mile – Leña and Bibo, both at Puente Romano Hotel. There are several other good restaurants here including 13 more at Puente Romano Hotel. Trocadero Playa, one of the best beach restaurants in Marbella, is also located in the area. Nearer Marbella are several exclusive boutiques and art galleries.
Property on this part of the Golden Mile consists of apartment complexes such as Las Lomas de Marbella Club, built in a Mediterranean pueblo style and luxury villas. Some of them are so large they resemble palaces. Much of the new development on the Golden Mile has recently taken place here. New builds include exclusive apartments at Las Lomas del Rey and La Trinidad, and ultra-modern villas at Concept.
The sloping terrain means that most properties on the Golden Mile have sea views. In addition, many also enjoy panoramic views of the Sierra Blanca mountain range that backs the resort to the north.
North
Several exclusive property developments lie to the north of the Golden Mile. These include Hacienda Nagueles, a development combining apartments, townhouses and villas. Sierra Blanca, slightly further north and in the foothills of La Concha, Marbella’s emblematic mountain peak, has several high-end apartment complexes and large villa properties. The Buchinger-Wilhelmi Clinic, the world-famous fasting clinic is also in Sierra Blanca.
New Golden Mile
Nestled between the beautiful Mediterranean coastline on one side and the La Concha Mountain range on the other, the New Golden Mile is one of the most popular residential areas on the Costa del Sol. It is conveniently located between Marbella West and Estepona, making it the perfect spot for those choosing to live in Spain.
The New Golden Mile is easily accessible from both Marbella and from Málaga airport which is around forty-five minutes by car.
Inspired by its more famous neighbour, the Estepona housing project is called simply the New Golden Mile, or Nueva Milla de Oro in Spanish, and is fast becoming the most talked about new area for luxury homes not only on the Costa del Sol, but in the whole of Spain. So where is the New Golden Mile? It runs for a total of 12 miles (19 km) from the east of the town of Estepona along the Costa del Sol to San Pedro de Alcántara.
The urbanización, or new private housing estate, has all sorts of amenities from international supermarkets and luxury shopping boutiques to golfing resorts like the El Paraiso, Valle Romano and Atalaya golf courses. There are also deluxe hotels, incredible spas and fine dining galore throughout the New Golden Mile.
More than all this, though, one of the best aspects of Estepona’s New Golden Mile is surely the attention to detail in terms of building and planning the property development. The local
government of Estepona wisely chose to avoid lots of unsightly apartment blocks all along the seafront, preferring instead to focus on individual properties and detached houses that leave the beautiful views and the golden, sandy beaches of the Mediterranean Sea intact.
Combining high-quality construction methods and materials with luxurious finishings in every home and the finest premium services around, it’s no wonder house hunters and property investors are flocking to the New Golden Mile to be the first to get a piece of the pie.
